About these dinosaur pages

Dinosaurs are a favorite for a reason: they come in every shape, from round-faced baby T. rexes to long-necked giants nibbling the treetops. The easy pages here have big, friendly shapes and thick lines for ages 3 to 6. The medium pages add jungle ferns, palm leaves and tall trees, and the detailed T. rex has scales and teeth for kids 9 and up.

Nobody knows for sure what color dinosaurs were, which makes them perfect for imagination. Some scientists think many had patterns like modern lizards and birds, so stripes, spots and bright colors are all fair game. A fun question to ask while coloring: is this dinosaur a plant eater or a meat eater? Long necks and flat teeth usually mean plants; big sharp teeth mean meat.

For a dinosaur unit, pair a page with its name (stegosaurus, triceratops, brachiosaurus, T. rex) and one fact the child can say out loud. If your kids love these, try the dragon pages next.
