Nauru flag coloring page
A dark blue field is split by a narrow gold stripe across the middle, with a white twelve-pointed star below it near the hoist. Chosen in a local contest, it was first flown when Nauru became independent on 31 January 1968. It works like a map of where Nauru lies.

About the flag of Nauru
What it means: The gold stripe is the equator and the star is Nauru just south of it. The twelve points stand for the twelve original tribes, and white for phosphate.
Did you know? The flag works like a map: the island sits just one degree below the equator, shown by the star under the gold line.
